Privacy Policy

When you create an account and use goat grids, we collect the following types of information:

• Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as an encrypted hash, never in plain text).
• Profile information: biography, location, skills, credits, experience level, availability, and any other details you add to your profile.
• Media files: profile photos, showreels, audio reels, and any other media you upload to the service.
• Usage data: pages you visit, searches you perform, applications you submit, and how you interact with the service. This helps us improve the service.
• Communications: messages you send to other users or to productions through the messaging feature in the service.
• Date of birth: collected when you sign up, solely to confirm you are 18 or older. It is never published on your profile. See section 7 below.

We only use your data for the following purposes:

• Providing the service: creating and displaying your profile, processing applications, and connecting talent with productions.
• Matching talent with productions: making your published profile discoverable in search results so productions can find you.
• Email notifications: sending you updates about your applications, messages, invitations, and account (including any paid features, if we introduce them). You can manage notification preferences from your Settings page.
• Improving the service: understanding how users navigate the service so we can fix issues and build better features.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We share data only with the following trusted service providers that help us run the service:

• Cloudinary: we use Cloudinary to store and deliver your uploaded photos and videos. Your media files are hosted on their secure servers.
• Email delivery: we use a transactional email provider to deliver notification and account emails to you.
• Hosting infrastructure: our servers are hosted on cloud infrastructure. All data is stored securely and access is strictly controlled.

We do not share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.

Published talent profiles are visible to all visitors of goat grids, including productions searching for talent. You control this. You can set your profile to Private at any time from your profile settings, which removes it from public search results. Draft profiles are only visible to you.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and media within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records for a longer period. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

You have the following rights over your personal data:

• Access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: you can update your profile information at any time from your Settings page. For other corrections, contact us.
• Deletion: you can delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete Account. You can also email us to request deletion.

goat grids is for adults only. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up solely to verify that you meet this requirement. It is never shown on your profile, never shared with productions or agencies you have not accepted representation from, and is not part of public search.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close the account and delete its personal data and media, including uploaded photos and videos. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account, or that anyone on goat grids is putting a young person at risk, report the profile using the Report button on it or email us immediately at safety@goatgrids.com.

Casting young performers is a normal part of our industry, but it does not happen through self-signup here: a performer under 18 must be represented and managed by a parent, guardian or agency, and we handle those arrangements separately. Contact us before creating any account on a young performer’s behalf.

We keep your date of birth for as long as your account exists, because the 18+ rule applies for as long as you use goat grids. It is deleted with the rest of your personal data when your account is deleted, and it is included in the data export you can download from Settings → Download your data.

Messages you send through goat grids are private between you and the person you are writing to. They are not read routinely, they are not used for advertising or training, and they are never sold or shared with third parties.

There is one exception. A small number of goat grids staff can open a message thread only to investigate a safety report, for example an allegation of harassment, a scam, or an adult approaching someone under 18, or where we are required to by law or by a valid legal request. When that happens:

• Access is read-only. Staff cannot send, edit or delete anyone’s messages, and opening a thread does not mark it as read for either person.
• The staff member must record a written reason before anything is shown to them.
• Every access is logged: who looked, whose messages, when, and why. Those logs are kept so the access can be reviewed later.
